LightBox Goes to School brings the joy of live theater on campus directly to your TK-6th grade students! Our staff and professional actors are ready to perform at your school assembly in front of your faculty and students.
After a decade of successfully producing nearly 20 plays on stage at the Carnegie Arts Center, LightBox Theatre Company is now taking its shows on the road. Teachers and principals no longer have to plan costly field trips off campus.
As a part of our mission, LightBox continues to partner with educators to provide artistic, illuminating and inspiring performances that reflect the history, stories, and culture of our diverse community.
We would love to be a part of your academic curriculum by visiting your campus. Learn more about LightBox Goes to School and reserve your show by visiting our website now!
Red is a social justice warrior who sees books pulled from her neighborhood library and recruits a local homeless vet on an odyssey you have to see to believe. It’s humor, songs and pandemonium in the city of Sherwood Forrest as one little girl becomes a legendary bandit and changes history!
What if a divine merman named Triton – or merboy since he’s 12 – decided he hated having a tail, so he hatched a plan to make the ocean unsalty and never have a tail again? Triton Tries to Take Today is an adventure across time, as Tri does all he can to not have a tail, and Ky does all she can to stop him.
Our productions are now portable and mobile! We can easily bring our simple sets and props to your campus and create a theatre environment in your multipurpose room, gymnasium, auditorium, or amphitheater.
Our shows are designed for kids! Triton Tries to Take Today and Little Red Robin Hood are both recommended for children in Kindergarten through sixth grade. TK students are welcome as long as they can sit through a 60-minute production.
We believe in the power of the arts to inspire and educate. That's why we offer a program guide for teachers for each of our shows to be included in the curriculum. The program guides are designed by members of our board and staff who are long-time educators.
Our education staff will contact you to finalize and confirm your assembly date based on the range of dates you are requesting. Currently we are asking you to select a "week of" range of dates. Scheduling will be base upon availability of our actors and staff.
Once a date is confirmed, you can set the show times that works best with your school's bell schedule!
We recommend the first time of the day to be not earlier than 9 a.m. and there should be 90 minutes between each start times. For example, to book two shows, we recommend a schedule of 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
To fully support our productions and compensate our professional actors, the fee schedule is as follows:
• One performance per assembly: $1,500
• Two performances per assembly: $2,000
Early Bird Discount
