Co-Founder, Artistic and Managing Director
Stefani is currently an assistant professor of theater history, criticism, and dramatic literature at CSU Northridge. Prior to that position, she taught for eight years as a Lecturer in the Theatre Department at CSU Stanislaus. Directing and teaching are her passions and she is so grateful to have directed LightBox's first ten productions! Choosing a favorite of those would be like trying to choose a favorite child or pet--impossible. She has directed numerous plays for older audiences over the years as well, her favorites being an adaption of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and Evening Star by Milcha Sanchez-Scott, both of which focus on the lives and well being of children. Stefani has directed and taught children in various types of plays and productions with a fundamental goal to help them have fun while learning an artistic craft. Her desire is to introduce Turlock’s youth to the entertaining liveliness of the theatre and to stimulate their creativity even as they learn and think about literature in new ways.
Eric is currently an Professor and the Faculty Scenic Designer in the Theatre Department at CSU Stanislaus. Besides teaching, Eric has been a freelance designer and theater artist for the past 20 years. He has worked in local and regional theaters all over the country and some of his favorite work has been with children’s theatre including; spending a summer designing for UAA Theatre for Young people in Anchorage, Alaska, designing and painting for the youth programs at Barrington Stage Co. in Pittsfield, Mass., and the Plano Rep in Plano, Texas, and most recently serving as the 2014 – 2015 season designer for the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre Company’s mainstage productions.
